Anthropic has just dropped Claude Cowork on iOS, Android, and the web. The feature that let multiple users collaborate in real time on the same Claude conversation had been desktop-only for months, now it follows you wherever you actually work: on your phone between meetings, or in a browser on a hotel laptop. Real-time collaboration with an AI as a genuine team member, no longer chained to a desk. Sounds great. But read the fine print.
TL;DR: The no-fluff summary
- Claude Cowork in beta: multiple users collaborate in real time on the same Claude conversation, now from mobile and web too.
- Key stat: more than 90% of Cowork usage is NOT coding. Half of it is marketing, content, and operations.
- Limited access: rolling out first to Max plan subscribers, with wider availability to other plans in the coming weeks.
- EU availability: unconfirmed: the official source does not confirm availability in the EEA right now.
What Claude Cowork is, and why going mobile changes things
Claude Cowork turns Claude into a shared workspace. Multiple team members join the same conversation, refine instructions, and review responses at the same time. Beyond that, Cowork handles complex multi-step tasks autonomously: it reads files, creates documents, and connects to external tools like Google Drive, Gmail, HubSpot, and Salesforce.

Until now, all of this was desktop-only. The beta launch for mobile and web changes the equation: you kick off a competitive analysis at the office, check progress on your phone on the way home, and wrap it up on your laptop. Real marketing team work does not happen staring at the same screen for eight hours straight.
The rollout starts with Max plan subscribers, with a gradual expansion to other plans. Cowork has been in beta since January 2026, steadily adding integrations, browser automation, and scheduled tasks.
EU and EEA availability: unconfirmed
While Claude (the general assistant) has been available in the European Union since May 2024, the official source for this launch does NOT confirm that Claude Cowork on mobile and web is accessible in the EU or the European Economic Area right now. It would be inaccurate to say European users can use the feature today. If you try and it does not show up, now you know why.
What this means for marketing teams
This is where things get interesting for anyone working in an agency or on a paid media and content team. Anthropic has revealed that more than 90% of Cowork usage is not coding, with half concentrated in marketing, content creation, and operations. Anthropic's own growth team uses it for Google Ads search term audits and live dashboards.
Concrete examples that map directly to day-to-day agency work:
- Automated competitive research. Drop in competitor URLs, let Cowork pull positioning, pricing, and messaging data, and get back a structured document. Multiple team members can redirect the analysis in real time.
- Content repurposing at scale. From a single blog post, generate LinkedIn updates, email intros, and social copy. The team reviews and adjusts tone without waiting in line.
- Lead enrichment and personalized outreach. Load a list, let Cowork extract key data and draft messages. What used to be half a day of manual work becomes review and sign-off.
- Recurring reports. Connect your data sources, define the structure, schedule the task. Your daily or weekly report runs itself, no one opens a spreadsheet again.
If you already use AI agents for campaign management, Cowork fits right in: multiple humans supervising the agent simultaneously, from any device. Fewer bottlenecks, less "hang on, let me forward you that thread."
What bothers me, and what no one is talking about
It all sounds great. But slow down.

Vendor dependency. When your team collaborates inside Claude, your workflow is 100% tied to a single provider. If Anthropic changes its pricing, if the beta goes down, if they decide tomorrow that Cowork is Enterprise-only at $200 per seat, your entire operation stalls. It is the same trap as building your whole business on Google Ads policy: it works until it does not, and you have zero leverage.
Then there is the European gap. The fact that, in July 2026, EU availability for a collaborative work feature is still unconfirmed is not a minor footnote. It is a pattern. European teams have spent months being treated as second-class citizens in AI rollouts, and planning your workflows around a beta with no confirmed launch date for your market is a gamble. My bet is it will get there, but I am not rebuilding an agency process on a promise.
And the deeper issue: collaborating on top of an AI is not a substitute for having a clear process. I have watched teams jump straight to the shiny new tool without knowing what they want to automate or who approves what. As I cover in the guide to automating content with AI at scale, the agent is only as good as the system around it. Without human judgment and a clear validation flow, it does not matter if five people are collaborating in real time, you will just produce noise at scale.
Verdict: promising, with real caveats
Anthropic bringing Cowork to mobile and web makes complete sense. Real marketing team work happens there: on the move, in bursts, between meetings. Teams already using Claude as a shared tool will notice the difference immediately.
That said: if you are in the EU, wait for official confirmation before reorganizing your workflows around this. And if you do have access, remember that the tool is not the system. You, your team, and the ground rules you set together are the system. Cowork can be a serious force multiplier. Or it can be another shiny toy collecting dust in two weeks.
The difference comes down to whether you know exactly what you need it for before you turn it on.
