Operations director. Independent consultant. Teacher and speaker.
My name is Daniel Espinosa Ramos. I have spent over a decade making a living from online marketing. I have built strategies that grew businesses, taken plenty of hits along the way, and I do not regret a single one.

I like marketing.
I like it a lot.
And that, in someone who has spent his whole life looking for the thing that not only pleased him but truly thrilled him, is gold. When I was young I tried to have a normal career, normal studies, and end up doing what was expected of me. The truth is I never fit that mould, and for a long time it was hard to accept.
But I was sure of one thing: I love learning. A lot. Since I was a kid I have learned things that were not meant to be absorbed at that age. And I always told my father that my dream was to end up working in an office with my computer, designing things. Spoiler: done.
Online marketing gave me the chance to dive into a world with the rules still unwritten, to be one of the people writing them, and to embark on a journey of learning without limits. There has not been a single day in my career when I have not learned something new. And that, nothing else, is what makes me want more with each passing day.
I like marketing.

While studying journalism, I spent a season as an announcer and editor at Sevilla FC Radio. Learning to tell a story under pressure still shapes how I communicate.
While studying journalism, I spent a season as an announcer and editor at Sevilla FC Radio. A press pass, a microphone and the first lesson in making a story land.
I founded Frikarte, an online magazine about films, series and videogames. There I discovered SEO, analytics and what it takes to coordinate a team.
This is the Frikarte writing team. The online magazine I founded about films, series and videogames became my first real school in SEO, analytics and team management.
I land in e-commerce at Black Recon. It is where I learn the day-to-day reality of a business where every marketing decision has to earn its keep.
Black Recon was where I cut my teeth in e-commerce. The theory started meeting stock, operations and the uncomfortable truth behind every marketing number.
At my second e-commerce, Mono Uso, I lead a marketing team and finish specialising in e-commerce and paid media.

I enter the agency world at Digital Menta. A new league, different challenges, the same drive to make every account grow.
Digital Menta was my entry into agency life. New clients, a different pace and the same obsession with growing businesses.
I started my agency adventure from scratch and ended up in the operations management of one of them. Another league, other problems, the same drive to fight for every account.
COVID hits and you have to step up: I quickly specialise in attribution and profitability. The crisis seasons me as a marketer.
When everything was shaking, the only thing that brought peace was well-measured numbers. I quickly specialised in attribution and profitability. That crisis seasoned me as a marketer.
I start teaching on my own and collaborating with educational institutions. Teaching is learning twice.
First on my own, then collaborating with several educational institutions. Teaching marketing forces me to truly understand it. As they say: to teach is to learn twice.
After years writing and working for others, I create a space that is only mine to express the marketing I believe in.
This is my personal brand. Here I share my experience, what I learn and my perspective on marketing, business and technology.

What drives me
Above all I value being true to yourself and saying what you think. Sometimes it brings trouble, I will not deny it, but the client ends up trusting the consultant who always points at the messes, welcome or not.
I am obsessed with reaching further, knowing more, seeing what no one else sees. Sometimes it is exhausting, but it is also what pushes me to grow to heights almost no one is willing to reach.
On my teams, neither results nor the daily grind come before people. They have to be satisfied and happy to give their best. Having a calling for people is what leads a team to victory.
