Google has just unveiled a digital employee that takes a goal, organises the work and carries out tasks for hours or days. Sounds great. It also sounds like something half of LinkedIn will try to sell you tomorrow without having tested it. Google's Gemini agent for business promises to move from chat to execution, but its availability in Spain and the EU remains unconfirmed.
TL;DR: The no-nonsense summary
- Universal agent: takes goals, plans work, uses tools and can create sub-agents.
- Marketing uses: Google suggests market research, content creation and launch preparation.
- Uncertain availability: Google has not confirmed general access in Spain or the EU.
- Features still pending: several distinctive capabilities remain in early access.

Availability in Spain/EU: Unconfirmed
The source does not confirm availability in Spain or the EU. Rollout stage not specified. Eligibility: businesses.
What is Gemini agent for business?
Gemini agent is a universal work agent unveiled by Google Cloud on 8 October 2026. It can take a goal, decide the steps and carry out the work through an interface or API.
The official Google Cloud announcement says it can answer questions, perform knowledge work, create images and other content, write code and complete goals. The difference from the usual conversational assistant lies in that last verb: complete.
The agent can keep working in the cloud, be triggered by a schedule or event, and spin up sub-agents to split parallel or sequential processes. Google says those tasks can last for hours or days. This is no longer about asking for ten headlines and picking the least bad one.
It can also connect with Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, Confluence, Jira, Salesforce, ServiceNow, BigQuery, Databricks, Postgres, Snowflake and MCP servers. According to TechCrunch, the rollout starts with businesses before a future consumer push.
Availability in Spain and the EU: unknown.
Stage: business rollout with mixed availability. Gemini Enterprise can be requested or trialled, but Google has not published a regional list confirming the new agent in Spain or the EU. Several core features remain in early access.
What can Gemini agent do for marketing and ecommerce?
Google suggests specific marketing uses: researching market trends, turning findings into models and presentations, and preparing launch documentation. These are official examples, not guaranteed outcomes.

The interesting part is the workflows that currently jump between five tools. Imagine assigning market research, combining it with internal data, preparing a presentation and leaving a task ready for the team. With permissions, sources and review properly set up, that could genuinely save work. Otherwise, you have built a very fast machine for spreading nonsense.
Google also cites conversion increases of up to three times in cases such as Ulta Beauty and Wesfarmers. Be careful not to mix things up: those results relate to assistants and agents built with Gemini Enterprise. The sources do not show that they came specifically from the new universal agent, nor do they provide an independent methodology.
In my view, the first marketing use case should be small and verifiable. I would start with something basic: analysing campaigns or carrying out market research for a real company project. A challenge the team can launch and review in half an hour. They should see that the distance from idea to execution is no longer so great, but also where it falls short.
The obsession with starting by automating an entire department strikes me as a great recipe for creating a permissions mess. Start with one repeatable task. Then two. Only then give it access to more systems.
Permissions matter more than the prompt
Writing a polished prompt will be the easy part. The real barrier is deciding what the agent can read, what it can change, how much it can spend and who is accountable when it does something nobody wanted.
Google describes dedicated agent identities, role-based permissions, action traceability, isolated execution, policies through Agent Gateway and per-project spending limits. It also proposes internal registries where teams can publish reusable tools and processes.
That has far more business substance than another chat bolted onto email. It also raises an uncomfortable question: who maintains those processes when a campaign, data source or commercial policy changes?
That is where the trap lies. An agent capable of working for days can also spend days following a flawed assumption. Human judgement does not disappear: it shifts towards process design, permissions and checkpoints. Automating without an owner is like putting on autopilot and heading to the pub.
Can you enable Gemini agent in Spain yet?
There is no confirmation that the new Gemini agent can be broadly enabled in Spain or across the EU. Neither the announcement nor the commercial page consulted provides a country list.
The Gemini Enterprise page lets users contact sales and advertises a 30-day Enterprise Plus trial. At the same time, it says multi-step background tasks, mobile and desktop apps, and the ability to choose third-party models remain in early access.
The fact that Orange Spain uses more than 1,000 custom Gemini Enterprise agents does not settle the question either. That case shows earlier deployments exist in Spain, not that every Spanish business can access the newly announced universal agent.
The situation recalls other agent launches whose regional availability required reading the small print, as happened with ChatGPT Dots and its arrival in Spain. Product announced, headlines published, then the question that matters: “Where is the button?”
My recommendation for marketing teams
My recommendation is to add Gemini agent to your testing list, not your miracles budget. Speak to Google or your provider, request written confirmation of the region, edition and available capabilities, and choose a small process with verifiable inputs and outputs.

- Define a repeatable task, such as a weekly campaign report.
- Limit data sources and permissions to the minimum required.
- Require human review before publishing, modifying campaigns or contacting customers.
- Measure time saved, errors and output quality.
I would not buy a promise of full automation yet. Specific pricing, a general-availability timeline, contract-level details and regional confirmation are still missing. In short, the things that turn a presentation into a usable tool.
Copy this and paste it into Claude Code, Cursor or your favourite coding assistant:
Review the official documentation for https://cloud.google.com/gemini-enterprise and list the information I should request from Google or my provider to confirm whether my business account can access Gemini agent. If availability is confirmed, design a test with no write permissions that summarises data from a sample campaign. Document the steps, required permissions and how to validate the result before expanding access.
Public documentation does not confirm access for your account. Check the region, edition and available capabilities with Google or your provider before configuring the test.
Gemini agent for business points to a serious shift: moving from talking to AI to delegating processes to it. But in Spain, we are still waiting for the confirmation that separates an announcement from reality. Until then, fewer fireworks and more thought put into the first practical use case.
