There comes a moment when every marketing team with access to a coding agent ends up pasting loose prompts into a chat. No context, no structure, just hoping something decent comes out. Marketing Skills by Alireza Rezvani is an open-source library that organizes marketing instructions for coding agents into thematic pods with shared brand context. Sounds good. The question is whether it delivers.

The Problem It Solves

Asking a coding agent to build an email sequence or audit your CRO without giving it context is like commissioning a poster from someone who does not know what you sell. The result: generic copy, textbook recommendations, zero grounding in your actual business.

The Rezvani marketing package groups specialized instructions into thematic pods: content, SEO and AEO, local SEO, CRO, channels, growth, market intelligence, and sales. Each skill includes a SKILL.md file with workflows and decision frameworks, plus a shared brand context that prevents you from re-explaining who you are at the start of every conversation.

The idea is not new. We already reviewed the Corey Haines package, which takes a similar approach. The difference: Rezvani bets on scale. His marketing directory is part of a much larger repository with hundreds of skills across engineering, product, finance, and more.

Getting Started

Setup depends on your agent. For Claude Code, the README documents the quick path:

For OpenAI Codex there is a dedicated script (scripts/codex-install.sh). The README declares compatibility with 13 platforms: Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Cursor, Aider, Windsurf, Kilo Code, OpenCode, Augment, Antigravity, Hermes Agent, Mistral Vibe, and OpenClaw. A converter (scripts/convert.sh) transforms the SKILL.md files into each platform’s native format.

Note: that compatibility is documented in the README and frontmatter. The material reviewed for this article does not include independent execution tests or documented production use. And if you use Windows, you need to clone with symlinks enabled (git clone -c core.symlinks=true, Developer Mode) or the skill trees will remain as plain text files. The repo itself warns you.

Using It in Real Marketing

\n\n

The best part of the package is its organization.

\n\n

There is a central router (marketing-skills/SKILL.md) that acts as an index and distributes work to the specialists in each pod. The agent consults that index, picks the skill that fits the task, and activates it with the brand context already loaded.

\n\n

Compared to pasting loose prompts, the advantage is immediate: you do not start from scratch. If the brand context is properly configured, the agent already knows who you are and what you measure without you having to repeat yourself. The difference between a freelancer who reads the brief once and one you have to re-brief in every email.

\n\n

Where does it fit best? Small agency teams or freelancers who want to standardize how they interact with coding agents on marketing tasks. Instead of everyone running their own prompts, everyone works from the same rulebook.

I would bet the biggest risk of such a wide package is that it overshoots. The more instructions compete for the agent’s attention, the more likely it is to pick the wrong skill or mix up contexts. The real challenge: making the router smart enough to choose the right one without you having to micromanage it.

The full repository has accumulated over 26,000 GitHub stars, but that number belongs to the entire multidisciplinary repo. There is no way to know how many came from marketing.

\n\n

What They Do Not Tell You

\n\n

A few things the README does not put in bold.

\n\n

The marketing-skills skill is a router. It does not execute work on its own: it routes to the specialists. If you are expecting a button that “does marketing”, this is not how it works.

\n\n

The numbers do not add up. The README mentions 49 marketing skills; the package index lists 43. There is no official explanation for the discrepancy. Do not buy into a fixed number.

\n\n

The repository’s 26,213 stars (as of this review) belong to Rezvani’s FULL project: 388 skills across 20 domains. They are not stars for the marketing division or installs of these specific skills.

\n\n

There is significant overlap with the Corey Haines package. If you already have one installed, assess whether the other brings something different or whether you will end up with duplicate instructions fighting for the agent’s attention.

The Python tools do not install dependencies implicitly. Some document extractors can optionally use third-party parsers for better results, but a standard-library fallback is available for every format. In restricted environments, that counts for something.

The most honest alternative is exactly what it replaces: marketing templates and frameworks scattered across loose documents, prompts in a structureless, memoryless chat. If your team has been working that way for months and nothing has broken, you may not need more.

If you want something structured but less ambitious, the Corey Haines package covers similar ground with less complexity. Rezvani bets on depth (more specialists, more pods, dedicated scripts); Haines goes more direct and lightweight.

Rezvani’s Marketing Skills is a broad marketing package for coding agents. Note: the 26,000+ stars belong to the full repo, not the marketing package.

The pod organization and shared context do make sense if you want to standardize how your team works with agents. It overlaps with options that already exist, so install it, compare, and decide. No score because there is no hands-on test of my own.
